We were sitting around the dinner table last night, my son asked how and why different religions celebrated the Holidays.
We are a mixed home. I'm a Born Again Non Bible Thumping Christian. My wife and son are both Jewish. We celebrate both Hanukah and Christmas. He asked me what other friends faiths celebrate, meaning our Muslim friends. I told him, I'm not sure but we should certainly find that one out.
He then asked me if I hated Muslims, to which I answered, Oh HELL NO! I only dislike radical, extremists types. I don't care WHAT religion they are, but I take issue with Radical Extreme Christians as I would Radical Extreme Jews. I therefore have little tolerance for Radical Extreme Islamics.
He pondered that for a while, then asked, "Do you dislike Radical-Extreme anything and everything?" To which we went on a journey of all types of Radical and Extremes.
As we got dessert, he ended with, "so Dad...How about Radical/Extreme Weightlifters?" To which I responded...ahhh HELL H, I use to, but we have many CrossFit friends now!
We bellowed with laughter!
