As we come upon my favorite holiday of the year, I can't help but be nostalgic. For those of you who don't go back to my fluffy hay day of 300+ pounds, I used to host a little tradition of the Thanksgiving Bloatathon on my blog. It was just a little unhealthy challenge to see who could gain the most weight on Thanksgiving Day.
From my rounded appearance, you can tell I took these contests seriously. At my best/worst I gained 13 pounds in one day. Needless to say that was not after cutting weight either, when putting the lbs back on is easy. That was a pure unadulterated food rampage. It actually left my lying over an ottoman moaning in pain as if I was in labor. I guess I kind of was.
I will say, for this year I have been hoarding up my calories all week. I have been low carb and am ready to eat. I am responsible for desserts so I am baking toll house cookie brownies (which I have never had, but look amazing), chocolate pie with whipped cream, and apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. My Dad is cooking a big bird with all the fixings and my Mom is making her famous broccoli and cheese casserole. Yes, vegetables are fun to eat when they are smothered in cheese, crushed Ritz crackers, and butter.
I won't be eating from sun up til sun down. The limit is two eating festivals that day and then that's it. However, not a calorie will be counted. I bet the myfitnesspal app on my phone will be yelling at me not to break my couple hundred days plus of tracking. Oh well.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Enjoy those you love and remember those you lost fondly. Eat, drink, and be merry.
A great closing paragraph for this time of year.
All the best to you and your family as we start the holiday season.
