Many years ago one of my mentors Sonny Daniels (from Mississippi) told me in his long gentle southern drawl, "If it doesn't kill and eat you, you'll be alright) when he saw me stressing or worrying about something (well, almost anything)

I asked him, if it was ok if it killed me?  He said "uh-huh, you'll be ok.  But if it eats you too, well then you're fucked".

I never questioned it after that explanation.
