Too often I get into a routine of amassing tremendous focus on the Bench and leaving OHP to act like the little cousin at a family reunion. When in fact, looking at what benefits the other I have noticed that the OHP has great carry over to the bench, but the bench does NOT have wonderful care over to the OHP.

So why do them at all? Which? The OHP? or the Bench?

The OHP.

Ready? Here comes one of my great coaching points. Do the OHP so you can increase your bench, PLUS look at all that extra stabilization you build up doing the OHP.

You know how it looks when someone pops that third wheel on the bench. Yea, like we're getting there. Put the fourth one on and now you are in the stadium. Pop the fifth wheel on the bench press and HOLY BUCKETS...you are officially playing with the Big Boys.

However, clank on the third wheel on an Overhead Press, and YOU are immediately thrust into the BADASS group of "serious" lifters.

Lastly, JUST START DOING THEM. They cap your 'ders so aesthetically that everyone will fawn over your cannonball delts.
