I just made a video on how to get ready for your first meet.
Here is how it really works...
1. Select a meet
2. Post said meet on all your social media accounts
3. Look up all the divisions and records so you can enter where you have the best chance of breaking a state, national, or world record…
4. Start to hate on all the lifters and federations that are not part of the one you selected.
5. Buy matching shoes, socks, sleeves, custom belt, singlet, wrist wraps, headband, or hat. Best to have one set for each lift. Almost forgot, get a shirt to help hold the squat bar on your back because real upper back work is boring and chalk can dry out your hands.
6. Start taking "pre-workouts"
7. Begin posting abbreviations: PR, AMRAP, RPE, ME, DE, PL, 1RM, 3RM, 5RM. "Just beat my RPE 5RM on my last AMRAP set"
8. # the shit out of all your posts, even if you hashtag a company and none of their products are in the post. Better yet, # the company while using their competitor's products. Oh, and tag everyone you know and especially those with more followers than you.
9. Expect praise, respect, and compliments for all "training" pics and posts you make because "training" is now more important than the competition. Think about it, a good training cycle can generate close to 100 posts - while the meet will generate only 3-9. It's simple math. Content Generation > Competition Results.
10. Once the meet is over - place your WILKS in all bio info.
Bonus: You are now qualified to can become an online coach. Just add "DM me for coaching" in all your posts.
