There was a joke a few years ago about the difference in the total amount of words spoken by women v. men.

On the average women speak about 25,000 words per day where men speak on average 12,000.  That's why we men are finished talking at the end the day and a women is only getting warmed up.

I'm not certain of the validity of that, but I know I like to get to the point of a story quick and concise.

I also dislike very much repeating myself.

I found today that the extra noise in my gym, two stereos, and multiple fans make it hard to hear at times, but I have one of those outdoor voices.  I know you can hear me!  I articulate very well too.  Therefore when you are always asking me, "what?" after I've said something I know you weren't listening the first time.

As of today, I won't repeat myself.  I may answer the question in an entirely different way, or I might make the point that you fail to listen and say nothing at all.

I have said in the past, Sometimes the greatest way to say something,  is to say nothing at all.

I do know this...I think I can get my daily verbiage down to perhaps 6000 wpd.

Man!  Why use 12,000 when 6,000 will do?
