When we don't have to jet right to hockey practice, I like to ride my bike to Hunter's school  with his CCM Roller Skates.  I ride home while he GLIDES past people, buses, cars, motorcycle gangs, and various crossing guards.

Doing this has made him a bit iconic.  Seems EVERYONE knows who Hunter is, by the way those folks toss out encouragement and salutations.  Much like the scenes from Rocky I and II (come to think of it III as well)

Today was one of those days looking into his eyes as he rounded the corner from his class that he wasn't IN TO IT!  Uh-oh...It's not like we live 38 miles from the school, but sometimes the three miles can seem like 38.

Tired, thirsty, hungry and drained SUCKS.  So with the help of a little positive reinforcement by way of "Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream" and a moment of intense sports conversation, we rode with the wind at our back and the sun in our face.

THEN...we took to the football field behind my house and paced out 10 x 50 yard sprints.  Not full out, but enough to huff and puff.  My legs actually feel pretty good considering the earlier training of Good Mornings and  Prowler.

Gonna grill up some Tri Tip now and use some of the last produce from my garden.

(Still...no rain in sight.  The drought has been long)
