Last weekend was a big step back in the right direction.

I spent the week before trying get back to form after a week vacation to Europe. I was stiff and not at my absolute strongest, but it went pretty well. Last week was even better.

Sunday was a deadlift session, with the lift being a sumo pull from the floor with 3 sets of chain. My pr for this lift was 585, so anything above this would indicate that I am back on track.

Everything up to 545 felt really good, but when I attempted 590, I couldn't get it past my knees. I'm still figuring out my gear for the meet, and I was pretty sure that my straps were too tight, throwing off my position. I loosened them up, tried it again and nailed it.

I was also happy to see that my grip held out well, as this has been the biggest issue for the last couple of meets.

Monday was a bench day, and since I worked up in the shirt the previous week, I stayed raw (mostly) for this. The lift was a bench with the squat bar and doubled mini-bands. I worked up to 290 (no idea if this is good or not since I rarely work up with bands), then put on my Metal Catapult and worked up to 380. Again, no idea if this good or not, but there it is.

As a second, I did some overhead pin-presses from chin height. These were ROUGH! I worked up to a triple with 225 and that was all I had.
