I had been running for some time, probably a good three months. I was running for one hour, three times per week. Unfortunately, I had come down with an awful heat rash that covered my whole body which caused me to stop running.

While clearing up the rash I had just been walking. Once the rash was gone I figured with training for a powerlifting meet that I’d stick with walking as it would be less likely to disturb my strength training.

I’m not quite sure what inspired it, but I decided to run yesterday instead of walk. The plan was to run-walk. I’d run then walk whenever the feeling moved me. Interestingly, I decided to run the entire time.

The running felt awesome. Unlike the walking, it was challenging. It forced me to be more focused.

Ironically, if you had asked me a few months ago about running, I would have told you it sucks. Now after substituting with walking for a month or so I realized walking really sucks.

So maybe running still sucks, but it sulks less than walking. So if you are like me and are trying to stay on the right side of the grass by getting your miles in and find walking boring as sh!t, try running.
