Monster Garage Gym/Maroscher Coaching Log: (Log number XLVI). “WOMEN POWERLIFTERS SQUAT TRAINING”
________________________________________
This Coaching Log features a squat training day in the life of five women powerlifters.

The purpose of this training log is to take a look at five differing methods to train the squat, via five vastly different women powerlifters, during one single training session.

The five types of squat training in this HD training video are:

1. RAW with knee sleeves, walking the weight out.
2. RAW with knee sleeves, using the monolift, while using a rubber band as the physical que reinforcement to keep the knees out.
3. Squatting RAW with knee wraps out of a monolift for reps.
4. Squatting RAW with knee wraps out of a monolift working toward a max single.
5. Geared squatting out of a monolift.

The five women powerlifters:

1. Mz. Dawn: 2010 AWPC World RAW Bench Press Champion, NAS National Strongman Qualifier, AAPF National Women’s RAW Powerlifting Champion (148 weight class), 2011 APF Illinois Female Lifter of the Year
2. Kendra: AAPF IL State Powerlifting Champion (148 weight class)
3. Bianca: Novice lifter, preparing for her first meet (123 weight class)
4. Crystal: Squats (523LBS) RAW with wraps, RUM competitor, 1300LB RAW total (198 weight class) third largest total on the ALL TIME rankings list
5. JuJu: UPA Power Bash Winner (181 weight class). Just recently made the switch into the world of geared lifting and is preparing for her first equipped meet.

The training footage is longer for those examining the methods and includes a few extra movement beyond the main emphasis to the training, the squat.  This is also training footage, not a highlight reel.  Training is the stuff, the meat and potatoes work that happens that in the end, produces the lifts seen in the highlight reel.  There is simply no substitute for hard work in the gym.
