Most of the time, training sessions are about improving strength or up the current condition level.

Sometimes training sessions are about small incremental increases in speed, or sometimes for health.

Two roads divide...which kind of health?

Yes, mostly the physical health of a person, but sometimes...perhaps more times than recognized, a training session can be about a person's MENTAL health.

I'm not going to go into the details about endorphins and blood flow or any of the neurological changes that occur during exercise, but what I will tell you is that sometimes I train a person and I won't give a hoot about the physicality of it. Nope...sometimes a workout will be all about the relationships that are built between athlete and coach.

Sometimes, a person needs to know that the effort they put into a training session is much appreciated and the "task master" is pleased to be in the same room!

Sometimes a session is only to make everything "right" in the world.

Remember what Conan's father said???

"The secret of steel has always carried with it a mystery. You must learn its riddle, Conan. You must learn its discipline. For no one - no one in this world can you trust."
