If you haven't been inspired to make the mind/body connection tougher and work for you, I recommend reading David Goggins (no relation to Steve, I think) book "You Can't Hurt Me".
This is that guy your mom talked about who was a little bit faster, bigger, stronger and meaner.
I knew a long time ago that I would train my mind and body harder than anyone that I associated with or at least that's what I thought!
I knew if you were going to beat me, your tongue was going to be hanging out from exhaustion because I wouldn't give up and you might have to kill me in order to win. I STILL feel that way today.
Here's an excerpt from Goggins book
Get it! Read it! Get your "mind calloused".
"Our culture has become hooked on the quick fix, the life hack, efficiency. Everyone is on the hunt for that simple action algorithm that nets maximum profit with the least amount of effort. There's no denying this attitude may get you some of the trapping of success, if you're lucky, but it will not lead to a calloused mind or self-mastery. If you want to master the mind and remove your governor, you'll have to become addicted to hard work. Because passion and obsession, even talent are only useful tools if you have the work ethic to back them up."
