This log clean is followed by 3 different press variations.  The first is a Viper press in which the lifter presses the weight straight from the lapped position.  This variation uses the momentum of explosively achieving the standing position to press the weight overhead.  The second is a strict press variation where the lifter finishes the press by "looking through the window".  The third press in this sequence is a push-press where the entire body is used to gain momentum which is the most common in contests.  The biggest difference between push-pressing with a log and with an Olympic Bar is the foot positioning and the "dip & drive" phase.  Because of the diameter of the log, it benefits the lifter to have a wider stance with the feet turned out and a quicker decent to add leg drive.
