Don't Follow THAT Program

Do not blindly follow the program of any upper level lifter. Most great lifters have learned from the application of a myriad of programs. They learn to exploit their strengths and improve upon their weaknesses. With this knowledge they create a program best suited for them.

Taking a program from an elite level lifter for a beginner is like grabbing Phil Heath's program out of a flex magazine to bodybuild. Start with a basic program and build a foundation before you start getting too creative. Read logs and articles to find the parts that make sense in your training.

I have had many conversations with some of the strongest guys on the planet. Although there are similarities in the programs it's the hard work and dedication that ultimately leads to success. Put the focus on the work not the program.
