I'm currently in the early stages of preparing for 2016 USS Strongman Nationals which will be held on June 11th, 2016. My training focus is to continue to get stronger overall, continue adding some size and start working in strongman events again. I'm working with teammate Mike Mastell on my programming.
So Mike has me doing events, loading stones on Saturday, followed by RDLs of some sort on Sundays and then going into Monday's deadlift/front squat days beat up with my whole posterior chain pretty/lower back fatigued. This is by design though. I've actual seemed to adapt pretty good, but I'm having to be on top of my soft tissue work.
I really enjoy these days. I'm able to go in and train hard, but not worry about hitting a certain number, reps, or time. I'm just putting in quality work and getting a pump. I also like training in flip flops. So these days are good for that.
