Alrighttttt....

It's 11pm Sunday night. I just drove 10 hours home from Wilmington NC. Rewind to Friday.

Yessie and I got up at 5am and hit the road at 6:04am. We were already 4 minutes late. 10 hours later after an uneventful road trip we showed up in Wilmington NC for my childhood friend's wedding.

Ryan, "Butch" as we affectionately call him, is 6'0" and 170lbs soaking wet (I think he threw on a couple LB's for the wedding though). We grew up playing baseball and football together. His dad, a high school football coach, was the first guy to get me into the weight room. Ryan is now a marine and a damn good person and we had a blast at his wedding.

Now I have an older brother, 16 years older to be exact. And Butch has a little brother, 18 years younger. Nate, pictured in the header, was diagnosed with cancer at around 2-3 years old if I remember right. He beat that like a rented mule and was doing pull ups at the age of 4. If you can't tell from the picture, he's a bad ass.

The wedding was a blast. Our friends are great. Butch's family is awesome. And Yessie and I actually went out and drank and had a good time.

On Saturday, before the wedding, we were fortunate enough to train at Hybrid Athlete Mission. And an even better stroke of good luck, my client Zakk was able to meet us there. I had never met him in person so this was the perfect opportunity. We tweaked his foot placement on bench and by his reaction I think we may have made a breakthrough. He's strong as hell but his bench is a weak point. So hopefully we can make some headway there for his upcoming meet.

I trained but probably shouldn't have after that 10 hour car ride the day before.

After driving 10 hours yesterday I actually felt good before training. Then four plates felt like seven plates. Too slow. Not explosive. Hips were tight. So we shut 'er down.
