I just competed at the Ontario Provincial Championships in Ottawa Ontario Canada. The 63 kg category was stacked with some really strong lifters this year, I am really glad to see how this sport is growing! I finished with a 308 lb squat, 207 lb bench (Breaking my National record), and a 313 deadlift going 5/9. I really struggled on the deadlift today and just couldn't get the right position. Overall a very frustrating day for me since I know I'm capable of much better and was hoping for a much, much larger total. I'd like to formally apologize to everyone who was expecting more out of me, and to all the competitors who deserved to compete against me at my best. Honestly, my head was focused on Nationals, and that still is my focus, but I should have put more of my focus on what was right in front of me.

A huge congrats to all the strong women who competed today and a special thanks to Steve Goggins for coaching me

Squats

Opener - 135kg / 297lbs

Second - 140kg / 308

Third - 145kg / 319lbs  MISS

Overall, squats went pretty well. 135 and 140 moved faster than ever and I was very pleased with how easy they felt. I went a little too low on my squats today and on my last one I didn't push up through my upper back causing too much of my weight to come forward and I couldn't recover from it. I'm looking forward to crushing this weight soon enough.

Bench Press

Opener - 91kg / 200 lbs

Second - 94kg / 207 lbs

Third - 96 kg / 211.2 MISS

I was happy that my benching went better than my previous meet. I broke my own national record by about 9lbs. My opener surprised me with how slow it went up. I swayed from my plan and took a safer second attempt of 94kg. It flew up! This was probably the best my bench has felt in competition! I still kept it safe and took 96 for my third. I had a hard time settling the bar out of the hand off and as a result couldn't get tight enough.

Deadlift

Opener - 142.5kg / 313.5lbs

Second - 152.5kg / 335.5 lbs MISS

Third - 152.5kg / 335.5 lbs MISS

My deadlifts felt a little weird warming up, but I figured I would get my shit together come time for the platform. I felt like I was a little uneven on all the warm ups, my right side felt like it was either higher or stronger. I decided to ignore it and just get out on the platform. My opener went up easy enough, but looking back, I didn't notice how high my hips were compared to my usual pull. I decided to sway from my plan again and take 152.5 instead of 155 for my second. My hips were way too high on this one and it looks like I tried to do an RDL. My handler finally spoke up and said I needed to drop my hips and lean back harder. I tried for my third and it went up much higher than my second, but I wasn't patient enough and quite frankly, I was already heart broken and wasn't in the meet mentally anymore.
