After contemplating doing the full XPC Finals meet at the Arnold or the 21 Deadlift Salute on the main stage at the Arnold, I've decided to do the 21 Deadlift Salute. Last year it was an awesome experience. The pic is a view from the stage right before lifting started, as you can see it was a pretty good crowd and made for a great environment. I fell a little short of my goal last year but it was still good enough to take home the win in the lightweight (220 and under) division.

Last year I only trained in my deadlift suit a handful of times and I feel like I left a little on the platform because of that. This year I plan to follow the same training principles as last year, but add in some work with the cambered bar, in addition to spending a little more time in the suit. I am planning on pulling 800+ at 220 this year.

I felt pretty good, but probably wouldn't have pulled that last one if it weren't for one of my good friends and former long time training partner, Justin Straight, being back in town for the first time since moving away. It was great having him back in the gym with the rest of the crew.

We finished up with 3x20 cable pull throughs and Some light hammer strength hamstring curls.
