The big guy turned 30 this past Wednesday. I'm a nut. But I'd like to think a creative and thoughtful one. This idea #30for30 came about a month and a half prior to the big day. How exactly am I going to come up with 30 surprises and perfectly time them? I wrote things down and started brainstorming, and whatever I couldn't fill with a creative idea, I went back to the basics and added sexual favors.
Fast forward to December 1st, the countdown began. First present of course was his favorite Lululemon shirt that was completely sold out and only one XXL size was available. Boom, #1 done.
I won't get into all the details, but the very important ones couldn't have been possible without the support of friends and family. And I'll tell you why:
WE raised $3,000 on behalf of Casey for the Make-A-Wish Foundation
Make-A-Wish Foundation - Greater PA and West Virginia
WE donated boxes and bags of food and non-food items to Casey's mums Church. Sharon Community Presbyterian is a sponsor for The West Hills Food Pantry
WE came together to celebrate a special person. But really, we can't stop thinking about how fortunate we are to have the group we have; the support we have; the love we have.
A special thank you to Dave Tate for supporting my obnoxious idea for creating "Team Williams" shirts with his face printed right in the front of it. He either thought it was a brilliant idea or a really, really bad one.
A special thank you to Josh Goedker for your creative mind. When we collaborate, magic happens.
A special thank you to our good friend Timothy Davis. We live vicariously through him and his spontaneity scares us and excites us at the same time. Let's just say Casey is probably feeling like he's got a 10in shlong in his pants.
A special thank you to Rachel and Lindsey who are coaches at Union Fitness. I think I was working 13 hours straight coordinating all this and delegated work to them because I was gassed out. They were always willing to help with anything and I am forever grateful for them.
A special thank you to all our friends and family who donated, showed up (in the flesh or on film) to make this day super special.
The energy and love was felt. Casey Stewart Williams, you are someone special, and because of people like you, the world is such a beautiful place. Know that you are leaving a mark in each and every one of us. You are living, learning and passing on. Your genuine heart, selflessness and willingness to always put others first is why I fell in love with you.
We're a team and I am looking forward to many, many birthdays with you.
Last HOORAH - HAPPY BIRTHDAY old man.
