I'm currently training for USS "Hope for the Holidays" strongman competition that'll be in St. Louis on December 19th. I'll be competing in the max log clean & press and max deadlift events. I'm also still focusing on adding some size, but strength is my main emphasis. I'm working with teammate Mike Mastell on my programming. After competing in December my next competition plans will more than likely be USS Nationals or NAS Plat+ next summer.

Front squats felt great on this day, but deadlifts felt like crap. After watching my video I realized I wasn't get my hips down enough at all and was pretty much RDL'ing the weight up. I actually usually pull with my hips much lower than most people and use a lot of quad on my pull. I think my hips were tight and quads a bit fatigued were part of the problem. On my back-off sets I got my hips down and the weights felt great. They were lighter, but the technique felt smoother.

Oh and for those who don't know, I post some  of my training videos on Instgram. It's @chasekarnes
