I hit some solid doubles and then a final set of 5 for the day. Immediately afterward I felt sick to my stomach, so I cut training for the day.

Could I have pushed through- maybe?

Why didn't I? Willpower is a nonrenewable resource. Or, if it is renewable, it takes a long time to renew itself. Going into the last stage of meet prep, I will certainly hit some days where I don't want to be in the gym at all. That's when I'll need to suck it up.
