I'm currently preparing for the 2016 USS Strongman Nationals which will be held on June 11th, 2016. My training focus is to continue to get stronger and prepare and peak for the events at Nationals. I'm working with teammate Mike Mastell on my nutrition and programming.

As I mentioned before, my current training split has me hitting strongman events on Saturday, bodybuilding work w/direct low back/hamstring work on Sunday and then doing my lower body day on Monday. So needless to say, I was a bit sore going into Monday, but not near as bad as I was a few weeks back. My body has adapated nicely. And with this contest being so posterior chain dominant, this is a very good thing.

The front squats felt strong and fast and so did the deadlifts. I've found myself talking trash to the bar after deadlifts lately. Not sure why it's after, but it just happens. I'm getting pretty amped up at how things are coming together. And my lower body is feeling stronger than ever. Oh and back to talking to the bar, don't act like you've never talked to a loaded bar in the gym. If you haven't give it a try sometime.

My legs were trashed after this session though. Which I'd expect.
