I'm currently training for USS "Hope for the Holidays" strongman competition that'll be in St. Louis on December 19th. I'll be competing in the max log clean & press and max deadlift events. I'm also still focusing on adding some size, but strength is my main emphasis. I'm working with teammate Mike Mastell on my programming. After competing in December my next competition plans will more than likely be USS Nationals or NAS Plat+ next summer.

I'm feeling really good starting my second week of this strength phase. I was a bit nervous on how the bodybuilding training for 12 weeks would affect my strength. I'm pretty pleased with where things are, but I'm definitely not where I want to be.

This session my strict axle press surprised me. It felt much better than I expected and I worked up heavier than I expected. The deadlifts felt like crap, but on video were smooth and fast and looked much better than they felt.
