Soooo I was a little behind on sleep going into this weekend. I actually slept until about 10pm on Saturday morning. Yessie's brother didn't mind much so we headed to breakfast and then over to the XPC Finals.

It was great catching up with some old friends, teammates, and making new acquaintances. I won't remember everyone I came across so I'm not going to list them, but here were some highlights:

Jo Jordan was a little worried going into this meet. His training was inconsistent and he was having some gear issues. Long story short- he hit a squat PR and we were all pumped for him the rest of the day.

Brandon Smitley didn't have the day he was capable of but he still hit some great numbers and finished on a strong note.

Zane and Tuesday- I get along really well with these two and I was happy just to catch up with them in between flights.

Jabez Burford was competing as well. We talked for a few minutes and I didn't realize he lives close to me. We'll have to get together sometime to train.

Jeff Frank hit a smooth 1200lb squat.

I met Tarra, part of Keyhole Barbell, and newest team member to EliteFTS. I caught up with Joe and Mario, also one of our newest teammates.

I met Chad who is a high school football coach in Ohio. He was competing at the finals also. Funny enough his wife was working the booth with Yessie over at the convention center and they had just met for the first time too.

Dave showed up for the second half of the day to support everyone.  He always has a funny or enlightening perspective on whatever the day my bring, and I usually try to get him fired up  one way or another.

I had to run and pick Yessie up at the convention center and we were both starving. We found a bad ass Brazilian steak house in the Arena District in Columbus so we pigged out. Then it was time to meet everyone back at the compound for pizza, donuts, and whiskey.

We had a great time BS'ing and catching up over stupid stories and training. Chris Duffin was drinking whiskey with us which inevitably lead to a squat seminar from Chris. Drunk or not he had some really great pointers on fixing your feet to fix your squat.
