I'm taking the next 12+ weeks off from strongman events and training primarily for hypertrophy with a slight strength emphasis. I'm in my "off-season" and looking to put on some size over the upcoming months and into next year. I'm working with teammate Mike Mastell on my programming.

Going into today's sessions I just wasn't "feeling it". Typically my split falls to where my Thursday session is pretty quick and not as intensive. However since my training days were pushed back this week I had to squeeze in my l Wednesday session on a Thursday. On Thursdays I typically work 6am-1pm back to back, then have a break from 1pm-3pm, then work 3pm-5 or 6pm.  For anyone who works with clients you know 7 appointments back to back is very mentally draining. Especially when you have 2 or 3 more after your break. However I chose to move my training back so no excuses, I had to get it in. So that's why I wasn't "feeling it" so to speak.

Once I got warmed up and deadlifting things felt good and I felt strong on my heaviest set of deadlifts. I was very happy with how they felt to be honest. I probably had 1-2 reps "in the tank" on my heavy set, but it was a tough set of 8. Those 1-2 reps would've probably been slower and not so pretty.
