So during my initial off season running David Allen's CTP method I was training solo 90% of the time. If you followed most log posts' you know that I cannot stand training solo. I made the decision (last minute) to hop on the 5/3/1 hypertrophy based program David created for the team. This will still keep me building muscle but start easing me back into my main lifts.

Due to ongoing shoulder tightness and being very far from a meet I will be dropping my maxes significantly and using specialty bars for squat, bench and opposite stance (conventional with straps) for deadlifts. OH Pressing will start out with a regular straight bar but may have to be swapped out depending on how the shoulder feels.

I was very pumped to have four teammates running with me this session and from the looks of it the majority of them will be constant training partners. This also allows me to move into a coaching roll with our men's team. I am going to be working closely with my training crew and staying later at the facility for the later groups to help with their development.

I am basing my squat off of a 630 max for the use of the EliteFTS SS Yoke bar. My last working set of 5 today was 425. I will also be attempting to use Olympic lifting shoes as I have been called for depth 4 out of my last 6 squat attempts during competition. I am hoping this will aid me in my mobility work and strength to not leave any doubt in my depth any longer.
