After a few email exchanges and a misunderstanding, it has been decided that I will not compete in Worlds. This is very unfortunate and I'm pretty bummed about it. As much as I want to rant, it is not my style. But I will say...

My qualifying total is past the one year deadline. Having Goggins as my coach, he was going to possibly extend the deadline so my total WOULD qualify me for the meet. Now, I understand that's a lot to ask because rules are rules and I don't expect to be treated differently than anyone else.

I also understand running a federation can be stressful because you have to tend to so many lifters. It is your job to make sure things are run smoothly. But this brings me to my other point...

Lifters make the federation. We don't really do this for the money. We actually give and give and give for this sport. Lifters assume travel expenses on top of meet fees that can easily range from $500-$1000+. In the same way a meet director expects lifters to respect the environment and equipment a lifter deserves equal respect.

With that being said, good reputation will draw lifters to attend your meet. Being passive aggressive or power hungry is a shameful way to run a federation. Instead, educate and respect lifters that are not aware of your guidelines or simply received a miscommunication along the way.

Plan B is to do the OSI meet in December with the gang. I need to readdress my goals for lifting. Yes, I want to total a 1000lbs. But do I want that for myself and compete in any federation to achieve that? Or do I want to compete in a drug tested federation and work my way up on the rankings? What's important to me?
