On August 22nd I competed at the DTS Open placing first in the 63kg open category with an 847 lb total, also winning best female and best squat. With the guidance of Steve Goggins, I am in pursuit of greatness, both on and off the platform.

Chaos and Disappointment

Honestly, I put off writing this log for too long, because it would mean admitting that training isn't going perfect.
Is my competition going to see this?
What about the people who want to see me
fail?
I have said before that I want to be transparent in my logs, so I am not going to hide from a sub par week of training. It happens.
With social media it can be hard to be human. All you see is the good, and sometimes it seems that your competition is perfect from what you see online. In reality, they may be struggling more than you.

I was amped up and ready to get back into the swing of training last week, but on Monday night my new dog got aggressive and bit my hand. My hand was pretty much useless for the rest of the week. I managed to get my training in, but felt terrible the whole time. I got my bare ass minimum on squat and accessory bench, but on friday I tore my hand back open trying to deadlift. I grudgingly moved on and did good mornings with the SS Yoke bar.

While my hand is still somewhat swollen, most of my cuts are healed, so this week I am happily getting back to normal.

Friday Deadlifts (Frustration)

I ripped my hand back open on my first set of deficit pulls with 225. I had to move away from deadlifting and do good mornings.
