I've been working with Siddy for about 11 months now. From the moment I saw her, I knew she would be great at powerlifting. Although she didn't have an athletic background, she had a great base and good genetics on her side. She works hard, has a great attitude, and is overall a great woman to know.
Video review and phone calls have been really helpful for us to communicate and make adjustments to her technique, program, and nutrition.

This Saturday she competed in her very first powerlifting competition. Although she has some big goals in mind, I wanted to make sure that above all else, she enjoyed the day and hit a few PRs.
Mission accomplished. She went 9/9 and hit PRs on every lift going 281/148/341. Every lift looked like she had more in her, but we'll save that for the next meet.

I'm excited to see what the future holds for Siddy. She has so much potential in this sport that we haven't even tapped into yet.

I asked her to reflect on the prep and meet day. Below are her own thoughts on how everything went.

Preparing for my first ever competition, I was very nervous. As I have only been lifting for 11 months, I was unsure if I was ready to enter a meet. Training has been hard, emotional and draining throughout the preparation. There are many ups and downs, some great days and some days I really wanted to give up. When I finally decided to sign up for my first meet, I noticed a change in the way I lifted. Training felt smooth, but in the back of my mind, I was nervous. I wanted to hit my goals, and achieve the best I can do. My coach prepared me as best as she could. Her and knowing my friends shared my journey allowed my prep to be much less emotional. On the day of my meet, I was hella nervous. I didn't sleep much, but in the back of my mind, I knew with the support of my coach and friends I would kill it. On the day of the meet, I ended up hitting my PRs for all three lifts. Deadlifts I hit 341, Bench was 150, Squat was 280. I am so proud to say I have grown a lot as a person over this journey.

Overall I’m really happy with how the meet went. I will definitely compete again
