4 Weeks Out from XPC Finals @ The Arnold Classic
Yesterday was the 2nd week of working to break in my new bench shirt - I did triples again with one breath first with 405lbs (2 sets) then 435lbs (3 sets), then did singles with 455 and 475lbs. After Circa Max Squats the day before; I was really run down; but tried to really focus and get the work done I know is necessary to get this shirt worked in. The triples were a little hit-or-miss but overall went well and I was able to be pretty aggressive bring the bar down. On the singles I went a little too slow with the 475 and didn't flare my elbows quick enough, but I got within an inch or so of touching. Next weekend I will work to touch with around 500lbs and really focus on bringing the bar down aggressively and being patient.
The whole day yesterday after training was pretty rough, I've been getting to the point where 2-3 sets in to training remotely heavy I feel sick to my stomach from a weird, depressed feeling with no real cause. It's gotten worse the past year and I have another doc appointment in a few weeks because my entire weeks have been affected. I've been really working on just putting my head down and pushing through training and making sure I'm busting ass through my sessions. The toughest part has been the days after training like this I can't sleep and have a really hard time getting normal tasks done. Only a few more weeks, this is a good opportunity to work on my mental toughness and I'll re-evaluate how I train after this meet.
