APF State meet December 19, 2019

Training

So after 3 weeks, I have noticed a glaring observation. My body, especially my grip, HATES going from speed work to heavier RE work but I feel like vise grips going from ME work down to RE work. Definitely going to be paying closer attention to this as the meet approaches to make smart decisions as to not overtrain the deadlift.

The RE sets today were by far the hardest and finding my proper grip placement and hold on the bar took over my concentration which compromised my technique during set up. I am willing to bet only one of my four RE sets were solid and felt snappy for all the reps. Three of the four sets my first rep was off in some way shape or form followed by cleaned up reps due to the eccentric loading fixing my issues. I have been relying heavily on Julia's eye during RE work to correlate what she is seeing to how I am feeling in order to make sure my hips, back, lats and head are set and in extension were needed before I start driving.
