APF State meet December 19, 2019
Training
2 weeks in a row that speed upper days were feeling fantastic. Weight was moving with true speed, secondary movements felt stable and strong and the following accessory work just felt dang good. Many times in the past this day felt the worst due to it being a really early training day and the percentages I was using were always too heavy for what the goal was (SPEED). The modifications to training on this particular day were spot on.The three ways I knew I was doing things wrong:
1- my joints and specific muscle groups were hurting: by the time something on your body is hurting it is past the phases of all the other warning signs your body was trying to tell you.
2- When you feel slow: If you feel this way AND your training partners are telling you, "you're slow" there is a problem with the weight you are using.
3- treating this day as "meh": if you repeatedly walk into this training day with a bad attitude, not feeling good, or just do not want to do it something is not being implemented properly. I am speaking from experience after approaching this day for over a year poorly.
