So day two the gas petal was not let off as we smashed calves, delt's, and quads. I am just going to say that I do not recall training calves at all in the past year except for when I was falling forward on a deadlift (sumo) and I attempted to bring it back!
The quad pump after this superset was unbearable, I do not think I have ever experienced that much blood trapped in one muscle group in my body... ever. My legs cramped the whole drive home with my manual car.
The most difficult part of this training is the ability to disconnect the demand of powerlifting and making movements "full body". During our Incline DB bench I was unable to get my chest pumping and taking the lead for the first two WORKING SETS, I am so set in my powerlifting ways that I wanted to hold everything with my Lats. For this reason it is crucial that David was there to cue me through the transition in understanding how to change muscular focus.
It amazes me the difference in building muscular strength and muscular hypertrophy. These training blocks always give me new respect for bodybuilding as a sport, skill, and craft as I attempt to isolate and focus my full mind into a single muscle. Did I mention, I HATE THE PUMP!
