I have had a weird last few days. Nothing has happened but I am feeling a little off. I am not quite sure what I'm feeling or why I am feeling it. To rectify my maylay of thoughts I decided that I needed to pull heavy. I was supposed to restart my rdls this week and go 635, 675, 710 over the next 3 weeks. Last mini cycle I went triples for 515, 575, 615, 650. The goal for my off season was to do triples each week and go for a all time rdl pr after 8 weeks. I hit the gym today and decided I needed to make a mid plan break and go pick up something heavy and feel strong. I opted to work up to a single off the floor.

this felt good. I mean really good. I haven't had 700 in my hands for months. I was glad that it moved fast. It's funny as I haven't pulled off the floor since October nor have I squatted in a month. Rest is so key for me. This workout was a reminder for me that I'm getting older and space in between intensity is a key for my success.
Parched back pause gms. I paused 3 seconds at the bottom of each rep.
135 for 3 sets of 8.
Done.
I went home and played my bass with the amp cranked up before the wife and kids came home.
Nice job on the deadlifts. If you're into the bass you should check out Bootsy Collins. The guy is an amazing player.
Check out his first couple of solo albums...I believe they're called "Stretchin' Out In Bootsy's Rubber Band" and "Ahh...the Name is Bootsy, Baby!". Eccentric, yes, but you won't be disappointed. The dude plays the bass like its an extension of his own body.
