I'm currently in the early stages of preparing for 2016 USS Strongman Nationals which will be held on June 11th, 2016. My training focus is to continue to get stronger overall, continue adding some size and start working in strongman events again. I'm working with teammate Mike Mastell on my programming.

I strained my brachioradilis on stones the Saturday before, so that made for some interesting pulls. My first set I used an alternate grip and on my third rep I pulled it even more. So I decided to just use a strap on my right hand for the next set. This set felt like crap as it was slow and for some reason my left hand was slipping (which never happens). The next set I decided to do double over with straps on both side. This felt the best and I finished out all my sets like this. However, they still felt crappy. I almost always deadlift with an alternate grip. If I pull with straps with a double over hand grip my technique changes slightly or something happens. I'm not exactly sure, but I do know I don't like pulling in straps.
