APF State meet December 15, 2019

Training

So let’s rewind 17 hours prior to this point in time. After all morning at the Crayola experience (for the kids of course) at a mall in Orlando Florida, we eat the densest fat-filled meal you can think of and it was glorious. If you’re in the Orlando area and can hit up the restaurant seven bites, do it!

Now, onto the good stuff. We finished eating and hightail it back to the rental car drop off where we are greeted by someone to inspect the car and to my surprise, they actually mark out a dent/chip in the side of the car that they are wanting me to sign for which I do not. No clue where it came from as I took pictures prior to getting the car. When the car was in our possession   It was never damaged and I hit nothing while driving it so we will see where that whole situation goes.

With then hop into the shuttle to be taken to the airport for checking. The line for spirit was super long but we accidentally somehow skipped a ton of people without anyone knowing and it worked out. We already knew our plane was delayed once so instead of leaving at 6:05 we knew it was going to be closer to 7:05. Julia's sister was on the same plane home as us so when we saw them near the gate we were informed that the plane was now delayed until 8:20 PM. Awesome, so we had family time and work time for roughly 2 1/2 hours until our plane arrived.

There were a lot of interest people to get home to Chicago in the plane ride went fairly quickly as they made up lost time in the air. Instead of two hours and 18 minutes, the plane ride home only took one hour and 15 minutes. I knew they were hauling ass because when we were approaching the runway we were going way faster than I normally used to when landing.

This is the part of the story where stuff gets really bad after landing we were told that our gate was occupied. This excuse was used for the next 45 minutes as we sat uncomfortably on the runway which made up for flying faster during our trip home. It is now 11:00 PM Sunday evening by the time we get off the plane and go to luggage where we are met with more frustration as it takes 45 minutes to get the luggage conveyor filled with our belongings.

To top it off we are roughly an hour's drive from home and because of all the stress and travel our son decides to get sick in the car while driving. We get home at roughly 1 o’clock in the morning and I get as much sleep as I possibly can to take clients in the morning and start my max effort singles against bands at 10 AM.. The only thought I have in my head as to at least tie what I did last Peking cycle with this variation. It was not until around 480 pounds on the bar that I realize this might not happen. The goal was 550 pounds but I was only able to make 535. I was upset and that lasted for about a day until I realized my last training cycle I used double micro-minis and this training cycle are used double monster minis so although it was a rough trip and a rough training day everything worked out in my favor.
