So at the end of my training cycle, all the stars aligned: I ended a training cycle with PR's, and my last Spring Break ever (or at least till I go for a PhD) coincided with the pre-scheduled deload/transition block. To be exact, my vacation to Colombia (10 days total) just happened to be during the beginning of the transition block-- giving me the freedom to train as little or as much as I'd like with not much consequence. This allowed me to just enjoy my vacation without worrying about "losing my gainz", or trying to find a gym in Medellin that would have real weights available.

That being said, I'm still an athlete-- regardless of where I am in my training cycle. While the "stress" that I would've likely experienced if it had been in the middle of a training cycle wasn't there, I still wanted to "be athletic" and get some workouts in. It wasn't really about trying to do anything specific, I just worked out because I wanted to/ it make me happy/ it makes me feel good (so on and so forth).

So what does a Powerlifter who wants to maintain some athleticism pack when one wants to simultaneously take as little as possible, but still be able to get a "sick pump":

1) Comfortable Sneakers

2) Headphones

3) A jump rope/speed rope

4) A variety of EliteFTS Resistance Bands [I took: 2 mini bands, 1 Heavy Band, 1 Average band]

More to come on how I managed to maintain athleticism while still being able to relax and be totally present during my vacation abroad!
