I'm currently in the early stages of preparing for 2016 USS Strongman Nationals which will be held on June 11th, 2016. My training focus is to continue to get stronger overall, continue adding some size and start working in strongman events again. I'm working with teammate Mike Mastell on my programming.
So today I finally got back to pressing. I was programmed to start with light clean and press with the log. However, with my arms straight overhead and palms with a neutral grip, I still felt a pain in my right shoulder. The incline dumbbells with a regular grip felt fine and so did the dumbbell overhead press. I've been working on it pretty aggressively with a lacrosse ball the past few days and plan to continue to. I'm pushing the log clean & press off to event day this weekend and planning to get these done. I'm just going to warm up very thorough and work up in weight very slowly.
