Florida – Iron House/2015 Florida’s Strongest Man – Level 2

Today's the day! Taking this competition as a heavy training day. Not many girls signed up as I'd hoped for but we're out here spreading the good word and love of the sport. It's always a good time watching what people are made of; and it's a chance to get more experience under my belt. and qualify for Nationals 2016.

Recap: The last 2 weeks really didn't go as planned because Miami weather has been horrible and we've had to improvise to get in some training. But the "deload" probably helped in the long run because my right shoulder and left IT band feel pretty good.

Events are the following:

Log clean and Press each rep for Reps: 60 second time limit to complete the lift. Judge will give “down” signal once the weight is steady, head is through, elbows and knees and hips are locked and the feet are parallel. No built up belts. No resting log on the belt or head. Chalk only.

Yoke Carry

60 ft carry down (1 drop) running two yokes at a time

60 second time limit - Belts, knee wraps/sleeves and supportive shorts allowed

175- 600lb Novice 600lb –Masters LW 600lbs Masters HW 700lb LW Open- 600 lb – HW Open -800lbs LWWoman- 400lb HWWoman-500lb

Frame carry (two frames at a time)

-60 second time limit

-60 feet run unlimited drops

Belt and chalk only.

Object Carry 60 second time limit 3 object 60 feet down. With run backs objects will be giving day of comp. They will all be strongman related. When all 3 objects are placed on mat time will stop. I promise no one will know the objects not even the members that train at Iron House.

Circus Dumbbell Medley 60 sec time limit, Athlete must press first dumbbell to move on to next dumbbellathletes will start with light bell first. You will go back and forth to each dumbbell until time runs out, or you can’t press anymore. Must wait for down call from judge, elbows and knees and hips are locked and the feet are parallel.
