Building, building, building.....
After some distractions that forced me away from my training, I am so pleased to be back to the gym and focusing on rebuilding and shattering some very specific grip goals in late January 2016. I am eager to rebuild and continue moving forward with competing, being a business owner and enjoying the off season for my minions while they get back into the gym, work with their coaches and make every training day count.
Late this year I completely switched paths saying I had grip goals I wanted to accomplish and just left it at that. I specifically did not share details, I did not want to ruin the Christmas surprise. I plan on competing at the LA FitExpo in January at the Odd Haugen Strength Classic.
My last post from training was 1/11 training. From there I had one more gripper day with RT and then Silver Bullet, Axle DL days. I watched my training vid and identified some issues on the Silver Bullet that was causing the disk to slip early throughout training. One of the straps was not connected evenly so the result was every time I closed the gripper onto the disk, the disk would start turning and pull out of my hand pretty quickly. I fixed that issue and practiced a smoother set up. I also threw on some wrist wraps on the axle DL to test out. Truthfully they are something I have never really trained with for this event and it really never occurred to me. However, I will bring them along just to be prepared if they are allowed.
My training consisted of rolling, mobility, and gathering more information on opening attempts. Saturday, 1/16 was my last training day. Let's see how this all pans out!
