Day 1 of the Power Lifting Experience 2.0 (see #PLexp2) was the team UGSS. I was waiting for Steve Goggins to get in town so he could watch my heavy deadlifts and pick out some cues for me to work on. Unfortunately his plane was delayed so I went on without him.

I was dreading this day to be completely honest. I had 675x4-5 scheduled according to Steve's program. And two weeks prior my 655x5 was TOUGH.  I didn't do a whole lot different from my normal warm up other than the hack squats. Murph, Matt Ladewski, and myself worked in together. Murph struggled with a new DL suit- he said his balls kept getting in the way but we know that wasn't true. Matt was working the 5-6 plate range and all of his doubles were smooth. I hit some 5's, then doubles, then singles up to my heavy set.

Todd Brock and a few other team members were in my ear for my heavy set. Weights always feel a little lighter at the S4 compound. I hit 675 for an easy 5. I might have had another 2-3 reps in the tank which I never would have guessed after my last heavy deadlift day.

Afterward we had a quick meet and greet with the attendees. Learning each other's names and talking through the plan for the following day. We had a pretty diverse group that included more females than males if I remember correctly...and obviously I wasn't complaining about that.
