I'm currently in the early stages of preparing for 2016 USS Strongman Nationals which will be held on June 11th, 2016. My training focus is to continue to get stronger overall, continue adding some size and start working in strongman events again. I'm working with teammate Mike Mastell on my programming.

Things felt really good today. Each set felt fast and strong. I love front squats and deadlifts. These two lifts are a must for any strongman competitor. I favor the front squat over the back squat and have for years. You just get so much carryover to the events. Overhead press, car deadlift, any deadlift event, keg/sandbag/h-stone carries, stone/keg/sandbag loads, conan's wheel, etc. are all helped  by the front squat. And I'm sure there's other events as well that didn't just pop into my head as I type this. If you could pick two lower body movements for strongman to get really strong at I'd recommend the deadlift and front squat.
