As I mentioned in a previous log, it's been a little while since I've been able to bench without pain. I've been dealing with costochondritis which is inflammation of the cartilage between the sternum and ribs. It started out as being a rib that would pop in and out every so often, then turned into severe pain when I tried to bench.
Thanks to the help of Dani Overcash, I've been working towards getting back into benching. I had to lay off all bench work completely for three weeks for the pain to go away. Today I'm trying to bench very light with a bench block and close grip to reduce the range of motion and keep strain off my sternum.
