It's been awhile since I gave a health update, so here's the short of it:
I'm still on Humira and Methotrexate...
The good: it's working. My GI function is back to normal! There are still good days and bad, but that's a matter of monitoring stress and diet.
The bad: both are immunosuppressants, so my white blood count is at a 3. Low end of 'normal' is a 5, I believe. So I recently got crushed by a cold. I won't be training for awhile, at least until I feel like I'm coming out of it.
The doctor had me skip a Methotrexate dose and my WBC jumped back up to 8 which is great. I'll drop from 25mg/week to 15mg/week moving forward to hopefully allow that to stabilize.
With no immune system, I had two different colds crush me over the last 3 weeks. It derailed training for a week, but beyond that...
Bench and deadlift are moving along as they have in the past after coming back from health issues. My squat, however, is a different story. I'm experiencing constant aches in my legs, mainly from my IT bands and my TFL. I'm picking Dani's brain to see if I can get it worked out, on top of ART work and deep tissue massages. And as a last resort, for the time being, I'm going to see JL this weekend for his RPR clinic. I'm excited because it's a great opportunity to learn from him. And hopefully we can come up with a reset for my TFL because at this point I can't even squat anything over 3 plates unless it's to a box.
Meet updates:
I'm giving it hell to try to get back to a competition worthy version of myself for the US Open in May. It will take a lot of piss and vinegar, and luck, at this point but that's still the game plan.
