If you have a specialty car and the only dealership that can fix it is 1,2 maybe 3 hours away. Would you still take your car in for a tune up? Of course you would, you have to maintain your car otherwise it won't run properly.

Our body is no different. Powerlifters put a lot of stress on their bodies, day in and day out. We max our CNS over and over again not thinking we will eventually need a tune up. Some people need more work than others but I am here to tell you the older we get, the more maintenance we seem to need.

Ken and I drive to Mississauga at least once a week to get our bodies "Tuned" up. Sometimes the drive is 1 hour, sometimes when traffic and weather are bad driving through Toronto it has taken up to 3 hours.

Why drive so far you ask? When you find the right Doctor, the man who goes above and beyond and is ranked in the top 100 medical health influencers of 2016 then you will drive how ever long it takes.

Dr. Ken Kinakin is our guy. Every time we see him he amazes me all over again. His muscle testing techniques are top notch. His knowledge of the body, anatomy and how it all relates to sports  injuries is priceless. Dr. Ken as you know is famous for running SWIS2016. He is not only our Doctor but our friend.

Dr. Ken even makes house calls but don't let that get out. He comes and trains with us at the Outlaw gym. He makes that nasty drive across Toronto to come help out on Bench nights and Squat days to ensure Ken and I are firing on all cylinders before we get under the heavy weights. Sometimes Ken trains, sometimes he just comes and helps others. That is the kind of man he is, genuine, honest, caring, generous and more than willing to go a step above and beyond for us.

Never asking for anything in return, Dr. Ken is nothing short of amazing. I can't say thank-you enough Dr. Ken. Week after week I have a different issue, my knee, my elbow, my shoulder or my back. Regardless you fix me up and get me firing again. I thank you for that, over and over again. You have gotten Ken's back better than it ever has been and he is ready for that 1,000 squat at the Arnold's. I'm ready to have my pull of a lifetime as well!

Training is part of the journey to the platform. Body maintenance is an absolute must to get you to the platform and through your training safely. If you are fortune enough to have someone like Dr. Ken in your corner then I'm happy for you. If you don't you need to find someone with his passion and drive and his willingness to Live, Learn and Pass On.

I'm so honoured that Dr. Ken and his lovely wife Sue will also be at the Arnold's cheering us on and helping us. He is going to be that Dr. guy in the corner of the ring, with his towel and tools just waiting for us to break so he can fix us. (That's a bit extreme but you get the picture)

Don't walk around in pain. Don't walk around with muscle issues and complain. The resources are out there you just have to go find them. Get that body tuned up and stay healthy.

Thank you Dr. Kinakin for all you do.
