I was looking through the wordpress pictures for one to use for my log and found this one of Dave so obviously I used it.

Thursday-

Dave was recording/filming a table talk with Jim Wendler and Matt Rhodes during this time so I tried to be extra inconspicuous during this time. Of course this meant Joe fell while experimenting with different ways to do pull ups, I dropped my phone in the most butterfinger way and had it clang on some equipment, and Nate tripped on a mat right behind where they were recording. So you could say it was a success. Sorry to anyone watching who was distracted by 3 lumbering land whales.

Also I did some pull ups holding onto 2 ropes so that is good considering I haven't done pull ups since I was like 120 lbs.

Anyway for my training. I did

Incline DB Press

Since I can't barbell bench I've just been rotating between different dumbbell variations.

I was shooting for 15-20 reps on these. I did the 45s for about 18 then on my next set got vastly less because my work capacity is shit so I dropped down to 40s for a set. Moral of the story- my work capacity is shit and I am dying.

I also realized before my last set that I was kind of humping the dumbbells into place and am truly hoping it wasn’t captured in the back of the table talk. If it was, it should probably be marked NSFW because a lot of people are about to get pregnant.

Rolling trieceps with DBs

I would usually do some heavy back or tricep work as a “secondary” movement but I am trying to put my back work later on in the workout with the lighter accessories so I can focus more on my technique. So that leaves triceps or shoulders as a secondary movement. I care more about those big ass horseshoes for my bench so I chose rolling triceps 4x12

DB Front and side raises 20 lbs 3x20

Cable rows in a squatting position- 4x15 focusing on keeping everything in the back down and back. I like doing heavy back work and it is important but my main focus right now is twofold 1) working the parts of the back I don’t normally work since when I go heavy, my traps tend to take over 2) learning to have the ability to control and feel what I am doing with my back instead of just.. Having my traps take over and end up doing a shrugging motion for anything back related.
