Sunday was my final real squat session, and the goal was 80% of last week's max with the same band tension (one strong and one average band) off a box

Since tearing my canvas last week, Ronda got me a brand new Jack Squatter just in time to put it through it's paces. Normally I would never use a suit just once before a meet, but that's just how things shook out this time. Fortunately the Jack is forgiving enough that I should be able to squat well in it.

Started the session with a general warm-up, then took the strong band for a few reps.

Next, I took both bands for a single.

150 x 1

put Metal Pro Brief on

240 x 1

Added Jack suit bottom

330 x 1

420 x 1

All sets were really easy.

The Jack felt good, but I felt like I could use a little more support. So for the meet, I'm going to wear my Jack briefs underneath.

Since I haven't pulled much in the last few weeks, I also wanted to work up to an opener deadlift.

I made a super easy 585, and felt like I could have taken a pr right there.

I can't remember the last time I was more confident in my deadlift than the other lifts, but between the weight loss and switching suits and shirts around like a quick-change artist, this hasn't been an average training cycle.

Did some reverse hypers and abs to finish up.

Monday was my last bench session, and I settled on a slingshot bench as the max effort movement because it would offer my aching arms and shoulders some much needed protection as they are super beat up from all the band work.

Started raw with the bar, and went:

95 x 5

135 x 5

185 x 5

225 x 1

Added slingshot

275 x 1

315 x 1

365 x 1

405 x 1

435 x 1

455 x 1

This moved pretty well, but was starting to get heavy, so I cut it. At two weeks out,  no need to go to a grinder, or worse, a miss. Right now the goal is recovery!

Did 5 sets on the chest supported row, then some triceps extensions, and that was all!
