Well hello there, I've been a little MIA on here since I've had some assignments due for school.. and well I've been in this loop of procrastinating my assignments, and feeling bad about that, making me not want to log until after my assignments are done... BUT today I am procrastinating by writing a training log. Was that hard to follow? Yeah, It's a confusing situation for me too. Pharmacology is currently my favorite of the classes I'm taking, but the assignments are long, and yeah I'll go finish the assignment once I'm done writing this.

So this was a lighter day for me. I'm 19 weeks out and Brian wanted to 'reset' my training so that we can get through the number of cycle rotations he wants me to do before the meet. Next week will be high box squats, followed by reverse bands, then chains, then straight weight, and repeat.

Boy, was I happy about the lighter day today. It's been a rough week for me sleep/recovery wise. Normally I can power through, but last weeks combo of heavy squats, staying up late to watch Supercross, and daylight savings had me FUCKED UP. I'm noticing that the more I push into heavier numbers on squats, the harder it is to recover. HELLO CNS, WANNA CATCH UP? I WOULD LIKE TO SQUAT 500 ONE OF THESE DAYS THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Anyhow, I didn't get much sleep the night before this and if it had been a heavy day I may have dug myself too deep into a hole that would be even harder to recover from. I yawned my way through the session, but my main goal was to make 305lbs look and feel light. I think I accomplished that.

Moving on, I had belt squats next in the program. The belt squat at this gym is preeetty much the only thing that ever bothers my knee (I thankfully have pretty good knees and want to keep them that way).  I'm not sure what brand this monster of a belt squat is but I'm 99% sure it was made for a human at least 4x the size of me, but I digress.
Since belt squats were out of the picture, I opted for some marches on the gargantuan belt squat.

Marches 4x20 knees up 4x20 feet out to the side

Next on the roster was good mornings. I've really been getting the hang of these lately. I might push them a little harder the next time I get to do these.

Reverse Hypers
I let it slip to Seth that I haven't really pushed hard on the reverse hypers because I either get bored if I'm going for a lot of reps, or have the hardest time putting plates on it (but seriously, could there be a more complicated way of getting plates on that thing?). So off we went to the reverse hyper where I warmed up with two plates per side, then went to three, and four (I think I did like 25 reps here and got bored again), then finally 4.5 plates was about enough for me to start feeling it get tough. There were about 15 seconds afterward where my back felt a bit pumped, then it went away. I think I have to do five plates/side next time, but I'll report back.

These sessions are long and I was starving/ready to nap so I stopped there.
