This training cycle has been anything but conventional. With jumping from gym to gym; traveling to get the coaching I need; and adjusting to fewer days of training a week because my body just wanted to rest. It was a challenge for me mentally. I needed this.

Switching over to singly ply was a decision I made months ago and a desire to get into a year ago. I hit my raw total goal of 900lbs and the following meet was not as successful but came short of 10lbs from my best meet. Not too shabby. Single ply I wanted to utilize as a teaching tool. Training under Goggins taught me to remove ego and learn patience. With that in mind and my training cycle being sporadic and making the most of it, I'm going into this meet with no frustrations or unnecessary added stress. The intention is to get my feet wet and experience what it's like to be in single ply in a meet setting (if there is a difference). Friends have been supportive and are constantly checking up if anything is needed and that most definitely helps with the process. Can't thank Lonas, Curtis, and the power couple Jabez and Jodie enough.

Bodyweight for the last few months were at a low of 130. This was a concern given that I had to get smaller gear. Weight needed to go up.  Last week I was weighing around 134. Awesome. Only then did I realize my menstrual cycle was approaching and my body retains a ton of water. This morning I weighed in at a whopping 129. Awesome. Calm, cool, and collected (as I type stuffing my face with marble loaf bread).

Plan

Goal is to get close to a 1,000+ total.

Squat: 365/400/400+

Bench: 205/225/225+

Deads: 360/380/380+

Using gear as a teaching tool, I am not changing my technique or training all that dramatically. Yes, different cues and grooves are necessary and bench is the biggest learning curve. But I still implemented raw training and didn't just rely on equipment. Once I complete the meet, this will kickstart the course of more effective and strategic work. My plan is to compete raw to see the carryover and I need to work from there down.

*Ellen Stein Holds the pro single ply record of 410/210/440 with a 1060 total.

Send all the good juju vibes. Excited to compete along side so many strong and awesome people.
