Drove down to London to train on Saturday, I knew squats were on the agenda, just weren't sure what type. A few of my regular Elitefts training crew are getting ready for meets, you can definitely tell that the workouts are a little ramped up. This is one of the best training sessions I've had in awhile!
Squats were to a low box - approx. 3 inches below parallel with the buffalo bar.
- I suck a box squatting anyways, so the extra depth made it 100x harder for me.
barx5
145x 5
235x 4
325x3
375x2
415x1
465x1
475x1
called it there so my new rival Jessica Bowersock could out squat me, making 485 look easy.....
After that embarrassment we moved on to deadlifts 15 sets of 1 vs bands.
Ted Toalston and I used the average bands and 325 bar weight and finished our 15 sets in about 12 minutes.
-The firs 10 were easy, the last few were pretty tough. The hardest part was trying to keep everything exactly the same as I got tired, and try to keep the same bar speed on every rep.
I skipped out on accessory work because my sister in law's wedding that day and my wife and two girls were in the wedding, so I figured I better not miss that.
But it was still a great training session. It's always a good environment in the elitfts S5, but with people getting ready for a meet it's always even better.
